Overview
Work on Kaggle competitions together, then transition to our own intermediate-level project.
Difficulty: Beginner.
Training
Members will need:
- Kaggle
- Coding — some prior experience expected
- ML/AI — we go through this together
Milestones
October 1 — Finish one Kaggle competition. Introduce team members to ML/AI, have them work through courses, start a project, and finish it.
November 1 — Finish another Kaggle competition. Choose one with a harder technology, read research, start the project, and finish it.
December 1 — Transition into our own project. Reach out by email and message people for help, agree to join, then start working to solve their problem, or look for problems to solve.
Team split
The team has 4–6 members. Initially there are no subteams, but as we become more independent we split into subteams, each focused on a certain part of the model and reading relevant papers. The goal is to start involved and give members the skills to work by themselves soon after.
Meetings occur every one to two weeks.
